2011 Fantasy Football | Projecting Success in Week 11

MJD Week 11

Maurice Jones-Drew has carried a heavy workload for Jacksonville this season.

Many weekly fantasy football games are nearing the end of their regular seasons, making lineup decisions increasingly crucial as fantasy owners near the finish line. Here are a few players that should score plenty in Week 11 of fantasy football:

(Parenthetic number indicates opposing defenses rank against given fantasy position)

Maurice Jones-Drew @ CLE (24th against RB’s)
Has only once rushed for less than 84 yards this season, and has scores in his past two contests. Throw in a favorable match-up with the Cleveland Browns rush defense, and you’ve got the perfect formula for fantasy success.

Rob Gronkowski vs. KC (18th against TE’s)
It can be a bit of a guessing game when it comes to projecting which New England tight end will have the better performance each week. But we like the bigger, stronger Gronkowski to build on his last two contests (16 catches, 214 yards, 3 TD) with a strong showing on Monday Night Football.

Adrian Peterson vs. OAK (29th against RB’s)
We are going out on a limb with this predicton: we think Adrian Peterson will have an outstanding week against the 4th-friendliest defense for fantasy running backs. Groundbreaking stuff.

Hakeem Nicks vs. PHI (15th against WR’s)
The highly-touted Eagles secondary could do very little to slow down the big, strong Larry Fitzgerald in Week 10. After catching just two balls in his return from injury last week, we think Nicks will return to form in a big way this week. He may be a nice bargain in weekly salary cap football games considering his injury and lack of production recently.

DeMarco Murray @ WSH (21st against RB’s)
We always knew the kid had talent, but it never really felt like he put it ALL together during his collegiate career at OU. Looks like he’s finally delivering on all that promise, and Murray owners around the country are smiling because of it. Three of the last four weeks he’s eclipsed the 135-yard mark. We wouldn’t be against him to reach that total this week, too.

Brandon Marshall vs. BUF (24th against WR’s)
The Bills secondary was shredded by the Dallas wide receivers for 189 yards and three scores on Sunday. Marshall comes into the game averaging 7.5 catches for 102 yards in his last two games. This could be fun to watch.

Michael Turner vs. TEN (23rd against RB’s)
“The Burner” is about as steady as it gets when it comes to fantasy backs. He gets a home tilt with the fantasy friendly Titans run defense this week. Look for Turner to find the endzone this week after failing to get there in Week 10.
